CIOE 2026 Recap: Exploring Optical Lens Solutions with Global Customers

2026-09-24 - Leave me a message

September 9–11, 2026 | Shenzhen, China

The 27th China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE 2026) was held from September 9 to 11 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao'an, bringing together companies, engineers, buyers, and professionals from across the global optoelectronics industry.

Boshi Optics participated in the exhibition with a range of optical lens products covering security surveillance, automotive vision, medical imaging, and customized optical solutions.

For us, the exhibition was more than an opportunity to display products. It was also a chance to meet customers face to face, understand real-world application requirements, and discuss how optical design and manufacturing can support different imaging systems.

As an optical lens manufacturer and optical design solution provider, Boshi Optics combines lens development, manufacturing, and customized optical solutions to support customers from initial requirements through prototype development and production.

Security Lenses: Interest in Low-Light and Full-Color Imaging

One of the highlights of our security lens display was our black light lens solution.

Traditional night surveillance systems often rely on infrared illumination to obtain usable images in low-light environments. Black light imaging takes a different approach, focusing on capturing natural color information in extremely low-light conditions.

At CIOE 2026, several customers discussed applications involving:

- Low-light surveillance

- Full-color night vision

- AI-based visual recognition

- Outdoor security cameras

- Imaging systems operating under limited illumination

These discussions reflected an important trend in modern surveillance imaging: the lens is no longer simply a component placed in front of the image sensor. Optical performance increasingly has a direct impact on what an AI vision system can actually see and analyze.

Boshi Optics develops security lenses for different sensor formats, focal lengths, apertures, and application requirements, including low-light and starlight imaging solutions.

Small Endoscopic Lenses, Big Optical Challenges

Another product that attracted considerable attention at our booth was the medical endoscopic lens.

The extremely small size of an endoscopic lens naturally catches people's attention. A common reaction was:

"Can such a small lens really produce a usable image?"

The answer is yes—but miniaturization does not make optical development easier.

When the available space becomes smaller, optical design, mechanical structure, precision processing, assembly, and inspection all become more demanding. Every millimeter of the optical system matters.

Our endoscopic lens portfolio includes compact optical designs for different image sizes, fields of view, working ranges, and structural requirements. The product range also includes waterproof and focus-free configurations for specific applications.

For us, the interest in these small lenses was particularly valuable because it led to conversations not only about existing products, but also about the challenges customers face when developing compact medical imaging devices.

Automotive Lenses: Different Applications Require Different Optical Designs

Automotive vision was another important part of our product display at CIOE 2026.

From driving recorders and vehicle cameras to ADAS and other vision systems, different camera positions and applications place different requirements on the optical system.

Field of view, distortion, image quality, sensor compatibility, mechanical dimensions, environmental conditions, and other parameters may all need to be considered during lens development.

There is therefore rarely a single "standard answer" for every automotive camera project.

At the exhibition, we discussed different requirements with customers from different markets and application areas. These conversations gave us a better understanding of how automotive imaging requirements are evolving and provided useful input for future product development and customized lens projects.

Our product portfolio includes driving recorder lenses and other automotive optical components designed for different sensor formats and imaging requirements.

Customized Optical Solutions: From Requirements to Production

In addition to standard optical lens products, customized lens development was an important topic throughout the exhibition.

In real-world projects, customers are often not simply looking for "a lens."

A project may require:

- A specific focal length or field of view

- Compatibility with a particular image sensor

- A limited mechanical envelope

- A specific mounting interface

- Special environmental requirements

- A particular working wavelength

- A customized optical structure

- Specific imaging performance for a defined application

In these situations, an off-the-shelf lens may not be the right solution.

This is where optical design and customized development become particularly important.

Boshi Optics supports customized optical projects from requirement discussion and optical design through prototype development, precision processing, assembly, testing, and mass production.

Our capabilities cover not only complete lens assemblies, but also customized optical components and glass lens processing. The company's product and customization portfolio includes applications such as automotive projection optics, LiDAR lenses, barcode scanning lenses, parking payment scanning lenses, and various customized glass optical components.

For customers with a new imaging project, the development process can therefore begin with a technical discussion rather than a simple product selection.

Three Days of Technical Conversations

Over the three days of CIOE 2026, we welcomed customers and industry professionals from China and overseas.

Some visitors came with specific projects and discussed parameters such as focal length, sensor format, field of view, interface, and mechanical dimensions.

Others started with one of our standard products and then moved into discussions about customization, optical design, and production requirements.

These face-to-face conversations are particularly valuable to us.

A lens ultimately does not work independently. It becomes part of a complete imaging system, where the sensor, optical design, mechanical structure, illumination, software, and application environment all interact with each other.

That is why our approach is not simply about manufacturing a lens according to a specification sheet.

- Optical design helps solve the imaging requirement.

- Manufacturing turns the design into a consistent product.

- Customization allows the optical system to better fit the application.

This is the role we aim to play as an optical lens manufacturer and optical design solution provider.

Looking Beyond CIOE 2026

CIOE 2026 has come to an end, but the conversations continue.

We would like to thank everyone who visited the Boshi Optics booth, whether you came to explore low-light security lenses, compact endoscopic lenses, automotive imaging solutions, or customized optical products.

For us, exhibitions are not only about presenting finished products. They are also an opportunity to listen to engineers, purchasing teams, product developers, and industry partners—and to understand what the next generation of imaging systems actually needs.

Boshi Optics will continue to focus on optical lens design, manufacturing, and customized optical development, supporting applications across security surveillance, automotive vision, medical imaging, drones, and intelligent vision systems.

Thank you for meeting us at CIOE 2026.

We look forward to continuing the conversation and seeing you at the next exhibition.
