shanghai silk Optical invites you to attend the 25th China International Optoelectronics Expo

On New Year’s Day 2026, the team from Shanghai Silk Optical Technology Co., Ltd. journeyed to the revolutionary heartland of Jinggangshan. On this historic soil, they embarked on a journey designed for both spiritual enrichment and team cohesion. Centered on the "Jinggangshan Spirit," the event served as a bridge to strengthen unity, tempering the corporate spirit through a look back at history and injecting powerful momentum into the company’s mission for the coming year.

Picture this: You just sourced a top-tier, highly sensitive 1/2.7-inch image sensor for your new line of security cameras. You pair it with a standard M12 lens, power up the prototype, and look at the monitor. The center of the image looks fantastic! But the corners look like you’re peering through a dark, blurry tunnel. What went wrong? You’ve just fallen into the two most common traps in optical engineering: vignetting (dark corners) and uneven sharpness (soft edges). Pairing a sensor and a lens isn't just about making sure the threads screw together. It’s a precise optical marriage. If you are a procurement manager or a product engineer trying to maximize the performance of a 1/2.7" sensor without breaking the budget, here is the plain-English guide to getting that M12 lens match exactly right.

In the history of visual recording, every elevation in perspective has brought a leap in human cognition. From the early days of strapping heavy film cameras to hot air balloons or carrier pigeons to today’s consumer drones weaving through urban jungles, the role of optical systems has evolved from a simple "recorder" to a complex "decision-support terminal." When we discuss drone lenses, we are essentially talking about an extreme game of trade-offs limited by physics, aerodynamics, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Aspherical optics are widely used in modern cameras because they correct spherical aberration and allow designers to achieve high resolution, wide fields of view, and large apertures in compact packages. Unlike spherical surfaces with constant curvature, aspherical surfaces vary gradually from center to edge, improving light convergence and reducing the need for multiple corrective elements. This is especially valuable in smartphones, security cameras, drones, and automotive imaging where space is limited. Manufacturing precision and quality control are critical. Aspherical optics are a design tool, not a guarantee of quality—they work best when properly integrated into the full optical system. Boshi Optics applies them across security, automotive, and industrial applications.
