Panoramic endoscopic imaging is currently primarily applied in capsule endoscopes and large-field-of-view colorectaloscopes. The development of capsule endoscopes is highly diverse, with practical applications ranging from ordinary ultra-wide-angle lenses to the stitching of images from multiple cameras. The large field of view in colonoscopes is mainly achieved through multi-camera image stitching and multi-perspective display. The technical trajectory of security cameras was not an overnight success but a cross-disciplinary evolution spanning two centuries. In 1870, English inventor Wordsworth Donisthorpe patented the "kinesigraph," a moving picture camera designed to take a series of photos at set intervals to capture movement. In 1889, Donisthorpe and Louis Le Prince further refined film cameras and projection technology; Le Prince even developed a 16-lens camera, which, while more of an experimental tool at the time, laid the physical foundation for continuous monitoring in specific spaces.
